The most enjoyable aspect of my practice is helping innovative entrepreneurs and startups to structure their businesses, source appropriate finance and achieve their potential. I am a corporate partner known for my commercial pragmatism and problem solving approach.
I grew up in West Auckland, near the wild and beautiful West Coast surf beaches. I started my career at DLA Piper in Auckland, worked in London for four years, and ultimately returned to this great firm. I have represented early stage startups, formed new companies, represented companies and investors in venture financing rounds and worked with sellers and buyers in the sale and acquisition of mature businesses.
Outside of work my life is very busy, with a daughter and three-year-old twin boys. When time allows, I indulge my passions of surfing, playing guitar, and playing any sport I can. Like many New Zealanders, I am fanatical about rugby union and particularly enjoy talking rugby with my colleagues in Australia and England. Again, like most New Zealanders, I also love travelling. My surfing obsession has taken me to some spectacular places around the world, including Indonesia, Hawaii, Fiji, Central and South America, Portugal, Australia and many other spots.
