I am a business generalist and spend most of my time working with entrepreneurs and founders in startup and growth-stage companies. Through my role as external general counsel, I get to work with amazing people building amazing things. In my practice, I’ve been able to work with a wide variety of companies, at all stages of development, and across a myriad of sectors.

Whether working with a first-time entrepreneur seeking to build a side hustle into a viable business, or with a serial entrepreneur fresh off an exit and looking for the next adventure, I enjoy bringing my experience to bear to provide practical, timely solutions and advice. I enjoy being part of the team, building and sharing in the eventual success.

My focus is primarily in the technology sector, working with companies from software to ecommerce, gaming to productivity tools, artificial intelligence to VR/AR, healthtech, fintech, consumer goods, food and beverage, life sciences and everything in between.

My goal is to provide practical, business-focused advice to help my clients achieve their goals. From a legal practice perspective, I work on everything: company formations, such as structuring, shareholders agreements, and governance considerations; IP creation and commercialization; staffing concerns, such as employment and contractor matters; B2B and B2C contracting concerns; financing matters whether pre-seed, seed, series raises, private equity, venture capital or other strategic investments; and joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions. I’m qualified to practice in British Columbia and work with my colleagues throughout the DLA Piper global network on all sorts of cross-border matters

Outside of my working day, I’m generally active within the local startup community, providing educational seminars to entrepreneurs and actively engaging with industry groups. When I’m not in front of the computer, you’ll either find me with my nose in a book, out on the open road, or exploring a new hiking trail.
