I focus my corporate law practice on helping high-growth technology-oriented companies across market sectors navigate the diverse legal matters that arise during their life cycle. This includes company formation and structuring, seed, convertible debt, SAFE and preferred equity financings, corporate governance matters and mergers and acquisitions. A significant part of my practice also involves representing venture capital and corporate venture capital clients as outside counsel during their portfolio company investments, which perspective and deal flow pays dividends to company-side clients going though that process.
On the personal side, I live in Los Angeles near the beach with my wife and daughter, though my practice has a heavy dose of Silicon Valley and Bay Area clients stemming from my time living and working in northern California (it is truly a global practice). Before becoming a lawyer, I worked in the music industry, first as a musician and then as a producer and recording engineer (this probably makes me sound cooler than I am). For recreation, I love to travel, go wine tasting, read startup books and explore new restaurants and food. I also am hoping to pass a sommelier test in the near future. In the past I have sky dived, shared a ring with professional fighters (with varying levels of success) and repeatedly failed to do anything worth photographing on a surf board. There is still time for the latter (location works in my favor).
