Why technology? Bill Gates once said that you have the highest chance of being world-class at whatever is "the thing you do obsessively between age 13 and 18." I love advising tech companies and working in legal tech because I have been obsessed with technology since the early days of the Internet. Beginning with my childhood discovery of The Simpsons and Beanie Baby "webrings" circa 1993, prowling the interwebs has allowed me to satisfy my insatiable curiosity and nerdish leanings. I also relate best to people who have a shared love for tech and tech culture (the web comic XKCD, Reddit, the show Silicon Valley).
As Of Counsel, Corporate Knowledge Management, Data Analytics and Innovation, I am essentially a meta-tech lawyer (I work on tech for the tech lawyers!). It is abnormally fun for me to nerd out on datamining and knowledge management projects and help keep our corporate team at the cutting edge of innovation and technology adoption.
Favorite reads: As a corporate and securities attorney, I can't get enough of books (and podcasts) about frauds! The best books I've read recently include: American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road, Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Start-up and Billion Dollar Whale: The Man Who Fooled Wall Street, Hollywood, and the World. If there was a book about Fyre Festival, I'd probably like that, too!
My passions: I love reading, writing, gardening and cooking (especially Cajun food – I am from a small Cajun/Creole town in Louisiana). I adore animals and have two Scottish terriers, Basil and Bonnie, and five chickens: Dolly, Ouiser Boudreaux, Baby Tweet Tweet, Clara and Chicken Little.
