Johnny Choi is a Partner and head of DLA Piper's employment team in China. He supports multinational clients on all types of legal matters that involve their employees, including employment contracts, remuneration, data privacy, layoffs, employee IP infringements and ethical violations.
Johnny regularly advises clients at the senior management level on employee disputes. He successfully defended a number of technology companies against IP theft by their staff, and advised on related data privacy issues. He also supports various clients on highly contentious removal of company executives and large scale redundancies.
Recently, Johnny has advised life science companies and airlines on investigations into serious misconduct or corruption by employees. He also advises financial institutions and retail companies on the design and implementation of employee compensation and incentive schemes.
