
I'm a corporate lawyer and focus on the energy, health and retail sectors. I often help companies and investors when they are moving into Australia, for instance to use it as a base for R&D. I work a lot in R & D structuring, R & D joint ventures and cooperative research centres (CRCs). CRCs are where universities or nonprofit bodies need investment to commercialize or develop their IP, which means working with our IP team. CRCs can also involve subprojects where third parties come in and out, depending on the nature of the project and what their interest is in developing the IP. The structuring documents for CRCs tend to be quite complex, and there is often an additional layer of complication due to government funding of projects.
Outside of work, I support our unique brand of Australian rules football, barracking for Collingwood (the Mighty Magpies). Being an Aussie, I love the beach and the bush. I recently survived teaching my daughter how to drive and am about to start teaching my son....
