Brent Yamashita

I am a patent lawyer in DLA Piper's Silicon Valley office. I have practiced for almost 20 years and have worked with technology companies since the dot-com boom of the late 1990s. Half of my time is spent litigating patents, and the other half is spent drafting patent applications and prosecuting those applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my job is calling startup clients to tell them they are about to receive their first patent.

I live in Palo Alto, California and am married with two daughters. When I am not working or driving my daughters to dance practice, I usually am obsessing over my fantasy football team and finding the next rising star on the waiver wire.
