I am a Legal Director at DLA Piper Dubai with over fourteen years of commercial legal experience advising clients on a wide range of technology, regulatory and finance-related matters. Having spent 11 years in-house at a major international bank in London, I decided to take a plunge back into private practice to bring my in-house experience with me, adding value to our clients with a true understanding of their needs. I have a particular focus on the financial services sector and a passion for technology and innovation. Dubai is attractive to me as it is one of the leading Smart Cities in the world, has commendable ambitions to lead on its digital transformation journey and is an exciting place to be from a digital technology perspective.

All of this along with my passion for doing new and exciting things with my family, including my two young children, brought me to Dubai. I am yet to go on the world's longest zip-wire, take a plunge out of a plane over the Palm or ride the world's fastest rollercoaster but they are on my list of things to do in my spare time. I have however been able to travel further afield and I recently spent time exploring Bali; it was mind-blowing in every respect.

Whilst here, I have been fortunate to work with a number of clients on their digital transformation journeys and discovery process of setting up in the UAE including working with the leading UAE bank assisting with the bank's digital and innovation projects for its digital bank offering. I have also authored a "Middle East FinTech introductory series" with the aim to help demystify FinTech related topics, from a Middle East legal and regulatory perspective  - the articles can be found here:
