I have spent almost 20 years at the intersection of international law, public policy and civic engagement. I bring this experience to bear on behalf of my clients, ranging from innovative startups to industry-leading Fortune 100 companies, advising on legal and strategic issues related to cross-border business, implicating corporate, securities, regulatory, tax, labor, foreign exchange and data privacy. I have particular experience in cross-border equity-based compensation programs and international employment matters across Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
I am also passionate about civic engagement, particularly as it relates to private diplomacy and bringing diverse stakeholders together for common good. I serve on the boards of regional and state-wide business/CEO groups and as general counsel to an international security think tank, advise on international trade and economic issues as an appointee to both the US Secretary of Commerce and US Trade Representative, and have represented the State of California on investment and trade delegations around the world.
