The tax system can be challenging, and I enjoy helping my clients navigate the waters. Many tax matters arise in the course of the business life cycle, such as formations, credit financing, equity financing, equity awards, internal restructurings, and mergers and acquisitions. I bring a fresh perspective to the table and broad experience working with companies from a variety of sizes, geographic locations and industries.

After growing up in the Boston area, I focused my education on finance and gained valuable summer experiences in corporate finance and investment banking.  I began my career in tax in the Washington, DC area, where I assisted a variety of companies, from startups to multinational corporations, with tax planning and advisory matters while working for one of the world’s largest international accounting firms. After several years, I made the decision to move to New York to study in the renowned LL.M. in Taxation program at the New York University School of Law and gained industry insights and training from some of the top tax practitioners in the world.  Drawn by the innovative culture embodying Silicon Valley, I moved out to the San Francisco Bay Area after graduation and have been a member of DLA Piper’s global tax practice ever since.

My clients appreciate my ability to focus in on the tax matters that affect their bottom line. Having gained experience in the accounting industry before joining DLA Piper, I take the time to understand the financial positions of my clients and their stakeholders in order to help them identify tax-efficient strategies when engaging in a variety of transactions.
